The Majistrate Star Destroyer was the Empire's answer to the loss of it's Super Star Destroyers.  After the Schanda War, the Empire found itself lacking a strong command ship.  The last known Super Star Destroyer had been destroyed, and the only other command craft in production by the Empire was the Terminator Star Destroyer, and there were only two Terminators ever made.  Furthermore, Emperor Xindell did not like the Terminator Design.  Rather than continue production of these war ship as the Empire's Command ships, Xindell set about designing a new Command Cruiser.  Lacking the resources needed to build amother Super Star Destroyer, Xindell also needed his new command cruisers to be worthy of being the Empire's Flagship, at least until a new Super Star Destroyer could be built.  The Majestrate Star Destroyer was born.
 
Three kilometers in length, it's almost twice the size of the Imperial model of Star Destroyer.  It carries an impressive array of weaponry, giving it a versatility in battle that is unmatched.  It carries a compliment of nine fighter squadrons, and is easily adaptable in the type of fighters it carries.  It also has a special docking bay, accessable only by the ship's commanding officer, where it's Infinity Class Shuttle is kept.  With the new Super Star Destroyer built and in service, the Emperor's flag no longer flies on a Majistrate Star Destroyer.  The Majistrate Star Destroyers are now used as command ships for Empire's higher ranking individuals.
